A woman, who was not identified, notified police at 7:09 p.m. that she’d been hiking with two of her friends, Giovanni Rodriguez, 22, and Manuel Galarza, 23, when they decided to climb the Second Flatiron. They were not experienced climbers and did not have any climbing equipment with them.
The two became stranded, sheriff’s officials said, and their friend called 911 because it was going to be getting dark soon.
