A coach in El Paso County has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old.
The county sheriff’s office said Lee Michael Thompson, 37, was arrested Tuesday on accusations of sex assault on a child by a person in position of trust, a Class 3 felony.
Investigators began looking into Thompson on Monday after being called about “a possible sexual assault on a child involving a coach from a business in the Fountain area.”
Authorities say the assaults allegedly happened on several occasions at different locations.
Thompson was booked into the El Paso County jail where he was being held without bond.
“Due to the age of the victim and nature of the offense, no additional information will be released,” the county sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby, however, that Thompson ran a martial arts and self-defense school from his home.
Authorities believe Thompson could have additional victims. Anyone whose child had contact with Thompson and feels like a crime or assault may have occurred is asked to call Detective Jennifer Vanderpool at 719-520-7231.
