Lakewood police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound at Fox Hollow Golf Course when they responded to a report of shots fired Sunday morning.
The man apparently shot himself, according to Detective Ty Countryman, a police spokesman.
“The male was down on the course and mostly unresponsive,” Countryman said in a release. “The course and surrounding area was evacuated and locked down.”
Police responded to the golf course, at 13410 W. Morrison Road, at 7:19 a.m.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office provided an armored vehicle so officers could approach the man safely.
Paramedics transported him to a hospital. Countryman said he didn’t know the man’s condition.
No one else was injured.
“The golf course is in the process of going back to normal operations,” according to Countryman.
RIGHT NOW: is out at the Fox Hollow Golf Course. Active scene. Working to gather info.
