Man, woman found dead Sunday in southwest Denver was murder-suicide, coroner says

Sheryl Fierro and Jose Fierro-Renteria were pronounced dead at the scene

Authorities say the  Sunday in southwest Denver was a case of domestic violence-related, murder-suicide.

Investigators were called out to an apartment on the 3500 block of South Harlan Street about 2 p.m. Sunday on reports of a suicide. First responders then found the pair dead.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the two on Tuesday at 54-year-old Sheryl Fierro and 51-year-old Jose Fierro-Renteria.

The coroner says Fierro’s manner of death was homicide and Fierro-Renteria’s manner of death was suicide. Both died of a gunshot wound.

On Saturday night, in what Denver police suspect also was a murder-suicide. Those deaths happened on the 1800 block of South Knox Court, also in the southwest part of the city.
