Police have arrested a man they suspect is linked to three carjackings reported this weekend.

The Littleton Police Department announced in a Wednesday news release that Tremaine Speer was arrested Tuesday night — on his 32nd birthday.

Police believe Speer is connected to two carjackings in Littleton and one in Aurora, “based on similarities in that case,” according to the news release. Working together, the detectives from both departments were able to identify a suspect.

The first occurred about 12:20 p.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of W. Mineral Avenue. The suspect approached the woman with a handgun and demanded her vehicle.

The second Littleton report was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of S. Gallup Street. A woman there also reported that an armed man demanded her vehicle while she was in a parking lot.

of a brown or beige Impala was reported Sunday night at 16181 E. Vassar Avenue. Police at the time said they were looking for two Hispanic men. It was unclear Wednesday afternoon if police are still looking for a second suspect in that case.

Speer is being held on a parole violation charge, pending filing charges related to the carjackings.
