NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe analyzes how Broncos quarterbacks Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch fared at practice Wednesday.
Mark Sanchez
Peaks and valleys were the story for Sanchez. Like all the quarterbacks, he had a rough start to practice with a lot of balls ending up on the ground. He had two drives with the first-team to end practice. The first was a three-and-out punctuated by defensive end Jared Crick batting down two balls at the line. The second ended in a quick touchdown drive highlighted by a deep completion to Jordan Taylor.
Trevor Siemian
He probably had the best day of all the quarterbacks, but it wasn’t spectacular. Struggles early were a staple, but he was accurate on crossing routes during team drills and led the second-team to a long 18-play touchdown drive against the first-team defense near the end of practice.
Paxton Lynch
Wednesday might have been the rookie’s worst day of camp so far. He was all over the place with the football, with quite a few badly overthrown passes. Lynch said after practice that he’s been inconsistent and that needs to stop for him to emerge in the quarterback competition.
