Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock will host a ceremony to remember the 9/11 attacks on Sept. 11 at Denver's Civic Center.

The more I learn about the forthcoming 9/11 observance at Denver’s Civic Center, the more incredulous I get. It’s bad enough that the observance will feature a beer garden, as if this is some kind of huge celebratory block party. Now, as I understand it, the governor and the mayor will hold a dance contest. They are even joking about it on TV. A dance contest? To observe the murder of 3,000 people by Islamic terrorists? Really? No matter how cynical I get, I can’t keep up.
