Getting your player ready...

The last time we saw Los Angeles comic Kurt Braunohler in Denver — about a year ago — he was driving  around the country on a flatbed truck as part of an art experiment/Comedy Central pilot.

He also, incidentally, performed some stand-up on South Broadway, which is what he’s doing on his Aug. 7 return, sponsored by Sexpot Comedy. The former stage partner of (“Bob’s Burgers”), Braunohler’s inspired absurdity can be hilariously gross, silly and thought-provoking all at once. But mostly hilarious.

He plays his 21-and-up show at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hi-Dive, with openers Nathan Lund, Anthony Crawford and Miriam Moreno. 7 S. Broadway. Tickets are $15-$17 via .
