NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe analyzes how Broncos quarterbacks Mark Sanchez, Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch performed at practice Saturday.

Coach Gary Kubiak was cool, calm and collected swatting away reporters attempts to garner an answer on who will be the Broncos starting quarterback. Next week the team will have to put out a depth chart, but as of Saturday Kubiak hasn’t even come close to naming a starter for even Thursday’s preseason opener at Chicago against the Bears.

Mark Sanchez
After a strong start with heavy success on bootleg throws, Sanchez’s day began to go downhill. He had little success against a dominant first-team defense Saturday. Sanchez found more of his passes on the ground than in his intended receivers’ hands. Kubiak said he’s coaching Sanchez on making better decisions when plays get extended.

Trevor Siemian
Another day, another consistent performance from Siemian. He connected with Emmanuel Sanders, Bennie Fowler and Demaryius Thomas with strong and accurate throws. Siemian had the best performance of all the quarterbacks and he’s making his move to make the decision on a starting quarterback more difficult.

Paxton Lynch
The Broncos pass rush was on full throttle Saturday and Lynch held on the ball too long on a few plays that would have been sacks in a game. Otherwise, the rookie out of Memphis had a solid day with impressive touchdown throws to DeVier Posey and Cody Latimer.
