: July 31 Woody Paige column.
I’m saddened that Woody Paige’s columns will no longer grace the pages of The Denver Post. To me he symbolizes the essence of a great journalist, not just a sports journalist. Two words summarize Paige’s columns: “Never boring.” No matter the subject. He could be witty or sarcastic, he could make you laugh or cry or he could raise your ire, but he was always knowledgeable and informative. I didn’t always agree with him, but I loved his style and usage of historical metaphors.
This talented journalist will be greatly missed. He is the main reason I’ve kept my subscription to the Denver Post for 56 years.
Adios, amigo! Godspeed in your future journey.
