A 36-year-old Lakewood man spent the night stuck on Boulder’s Second Flatiron after the friends he texted for help didn’t alert authorities that he was stranded until this morning.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was scrambling on the Second Flatiron on Monday night when he became stuck on a ledge, according to Boulder County sheriff’s spokeswoman Carrie Haverfield.
Haverfield said the man tried to reach out to friends, but did not call 911. His friends did not report the man was stuck until this morning.
Police radio traffic indicated the person who eventually called the report in to police did not know the man was stranded because he or she did not see the texts until this morning.
Boulder County rescue crews were able to reach the man and get him to safety “fairly quickly,” Haverfield said.
He was not injured.
