A gun used in an attempted homicide in May near a 7-Eleven in northeast Denver has been linked to five other unsolved violent crimes in the metro area, federal agents say.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Thursday that the shooting happened about 11 p.m. May 21 in the 8700 block of East Montview Boulevard. Authorities say shots were fired at a group standing near the convenience store in the area, but no one was injured.
The ATF and police are searching for two women wanted for questioning in the May shooting.
“The National Integrated Ballistic Information Network’s ballistic comparison capability linked the firearm used in that shooting to five other unsolved violent crimes in Denver metro, including multiple aggravated assaults,” the ATF said in a Thursday news release.
Authorities say the two women wanted for questioning were seen in the area of the May shooting in a small black sedan, possibly a Toyota Yaris or similar vehicle.
Anyone with information on the shooting or the two women is asked to call Denver’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center at 303-575-7694.
