In Aurora, the third-largest city in Colorado, public school students speak 133 languages and 20 percent of its residents (or nearly 70,000 people) . That makes Aurora — which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year — the ideal place to hold an event called .

The numbers for the third annual event on the Great Lawn at Aurora Municipal Center are similarly telling: a 40-country flag ceremony with a 30-country fashion show, 20 performances on two stages, and dozens of ethnic food, art and crafts vendors. (Yes, there will be international beer, and lots of it).

Family friendly activities continue inside the Aurora History Museum, including a ukulele demonstration and a Hula show. With free parking and admission, it would be positively provincial to miss it. The event takes place 1-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 15151 E. Alameda Parkway. .
