The Clinton Foundation — which has created charitable efforts aimed at global health, women and girls in developing countries, and climate change — has been under fire of late, including from GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Trump and others have suggested conflicts of interest between the foundation and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, whose husband, former President Bill Clinton, began the foundation when he left office. There have been some calls for the Clinton Foundation to be shut down, including an that appeared last Friday on Slate’s website.
Laura Seay, a political scientist at Colby College, took to Twitter on Monday to refute the Slate article and defend the Clinton Foundation and the work it has done for children with AIDS in Africa. Following is her series of tweets.
