A maintenance worker with the Colorado Department of Transportation was injured Wednesday morning after a fall while working on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon, officials say.

According to Amy Ford, a CDOT spokeswoman, the worker was at the interstate’s 127 milemarker — just east of the Hanging Lake exit — when the incident happened.

Ford said details on the fall — including the height — and the extent of the worker’s injuries were not immediately available. She said the worker was being taken to a hospital about 10:15 a.m.

“There may be some traffic impacts,” Ford said.
