A single-vehicle dump truck crash killed one person Thursday morning near the Pine Junction Area in Jefferson County.

Authorities say the wreck happened on Jefferson County Road 126, or Pine Valley Road, 2 miles south of U.S. 285. Trooper Josh Lewis, of the Colorado State Patrol, says the truck rolled over and that the one person aboard — a male — was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was called in to authorities about 10:15 a.m.
County Road 126 has been closed while authorities investigate.
“We are actively working it,” Lewis said about 11:30 a.m.
The area where the crash happened is between Bailey and Conifer.
