A new, free mobile app called Wild Colorado offers a virtual guidebook to nearly 300 Colorado species to aid in wildlife viewing while also helping people personalize their experience with notes, photos and information sharing.

The searchable database available through WildCO, developed by the Mesa County Public Library Foundation and Mesa County Libraries with support from Kickstarter, Alpine Bank and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, can be downloaded for both and devices.

Information on the mammals, fish, birds and reptiles found in Colorado was provided by parks experts, with many of the photos taken by Colorado photographers.
