This is the new portion of the North Meadows drive from Meadows Blvd looking east towards US 85 on the new Castle Rock Parkway on August 9, 2016 in Castle Rock. This major new connection has been under construction for nearly 3 years. The 2 mile long Castle Rock Parkway/North Meadows drive will connect US 85 to I-25. This is Castle Rock’s biggest transportation project ever and will provide long-awaited relief to the insufferably overcrowded Founders/Meadows parkway exchange.

Nearly three years after construction began, Castle Rock Parkway saw the first vehicles roll across its smooth new surface Thursday morning.
The 2-mile road, which was dubbed the North Meadows Extension while it was being built, . Traffic engineers expect the road to provide long-sought relief at the heavily used Meadows/Founders Parkway bridge over I-25 as some motorists opt to use the new exit to access the popular Outlets at Castle Rock.
The $85.7 million project broke ground in October 2013 and ranks as the Douglas County town’s largest transportation project ever.
