
Just couldn’t wait anymore. On Aug. 17, Denver police arrested a man after he had broken an emergency phone at an RTD stop in the 4200 block of Jackson Street. The suspect had called RTD on the emergency phone to complain about the wait time for the train. He was then captured on video damaging the phone.
Man throws banana at 7-Eleven. A convenience store clerk called police Aug. 18 after an angry patron threw a banana and broke a pair of glasses at 7-Eleven, 551 E. Colfax Ave. A video corroborated the report, and the suspect fled after the incident. He was located and admitted to throwing the fruit. He was cited for destruction of property.
At-risk man assaulted over favors. On Aug. 18, police arrested a man after he assaulted an at-risk adult in a wheelchair in the 5100 block of East 34th Avenue. The suspect allegedly entered the victim’s apartment and argued with him about his daughter giving the victim sexual favors. The suspect then began punching the victim in the head.
Roommates fight. A man called police Aug. 23 to report that his son’s roommate was assaulting him in the 1000 block of South Parker Road. The father reported that the suspect came into the room, flicked his cigarette in the victim’s face, then pulled of the victim’s shoe and threw it in his face.
Previous employee makes threats. On Aug. 23, a man was arrested after making threats when he didn’t receive his paycheck at a business in the 900 block of West Colfax Avenue. The suspect had been fired from the business the previous day and had demanded his check. When he was told he could pick it up the next day, he became angry and started making threats.
