A male motorcyclist who was allegedly riding at high speed without using a headlight slammed into a car in Aurora Wednesday night and was killed, authorities say.
The name of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released.
The crash happened at about 8:15 p.m. at East Quincy Avenue and South Genoa Street, according to an Aurora police report.
When police arrived at the scene the motorcycle was fully engulfed in flames. The motorcycle rider was lying on the street unconscious, the report says.
He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An initial investigation indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling west on East Quincy Avenue at a high rate of speed when a car pulled out from South Genoa Street in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle struck the car and the rider was thrown from the motorcycle, the report says.
The driver of the car remained on scene and was cooperative, the report says. The name of the car driver also has not been released.
