AUG 20 1972 - Children on the midget roller coaster enjoy a ride in the kiddies section of Lakeside Amusement Park Sunday afternoon during "Un Dia con la Raza," first Chicano community festival at the park. There were unlimited rides for those who paid the $2 admission plus a Chicano costume contest, free entertainment, drawings for Denver Post Photo by Barry Staver prizes, authentic Mexican food and an after-dark dance. Proceeds from event, sponsored by Incorporated Mexican American Government Employes (IMAGE) and the Skyline Chapter of American Gl Forum, will go for scholarships for Chicano students, a building fund for Gl Forum and to help find jobs for unemployed Chicanos.

SEP 5 1971 - Love is a Giant Panda Bear Won at Denver Post Back-to-School Jamboree at Lakeside Jean Dubiel, left, 9, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dubiel of 5132 Ursula Way, holds giant prize she won Saturday. She was one of 26 winners in drawing. She said she would share her panda with her brother, John, 6, center. Drawing tickets is Mary Ann Crosby, 11, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Crosby, 7940 S. Young members of a dance group called Fantasia de Mexicana entertain a large crowd at the "Un Dia con La Raza" (one day with La Raza) at Lakeside Amusement Park in 1973. Denver chapter of Incorporated Mexican-American Government Employes and Skyline chapter of American Gl Forum sponsored activities at the amusement park.

MAR 14 1985 - Phil Aragon's job this afternoon was to climp up on the roller coaster at Lakeside Amusement Park and clean off its runners. Aragon uses a mixture of Desil fuel and oil to clean off the rails.

SEP 3 1972 - Around and Around They Go On Fun House Roulette Wheel at Lakeside Park Scene was at annual Back-to-School Jamboree sponsored by The Denver Post. Special coupons printed in The Post admitted persons to the park. Other coupons provided free rides and admission to the Fun House. Drawing for prizes was also held.

5/11/1986 - Familys were let in free today only if they had their mothers with them, there we have a shot of a new ride called the dragon. Its for kids any age that can get on with their parents, that are a little to big for the little roller coaster in Kiddie land or to small for the large roller coaster the cyclone.
