is upon us, and for many Coloradans, that means one thing: It’s time to start thinking about hitting the slopes.
In addition to the , registration is now open for , the trade association announced Friday.
With the Colorado Ski Country USA Passport, fifth graders get three days of free skiing or snowboarding at each of 20 participating resorts. Sixth graders get four days of skiing or snowboarding at all 20 resorts for $105 if they register before Nov. 30, or $125 until Jan. 31.
Both passports also include one free daily ski or snowboard equipment rental from Christy Sports.
Through CSCUSA’s First Class program, fifth graders who are new to skiing or snowboarding are eligible for another day of rental equipment, plus a free ski or snowboard lesson, in January.
“Over the years Colorado Ski Country USA’s Passport Programs have introduced an entire generation of Colorado kids to the state’s signature sports of skiing and snowboarding,” Colorado Ski Country USA chief Melanie Mills said in a statement. “We are extremely proud of our Passport programs and the access they give Colorado kids to our beloved outdoor winter sports and the variety of resorts right here in our backyard.”
Participating resorts for the 2016-17 season are: Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Cooper, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte, Eldora, Howelsen Hill, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Purgatory, Ski Granby Ranch, Snowmass, Steamboat, Sunlight, Telluride, Winter Park and Wolf Creek.
