
The on Thursday night drew 25.4 million viewers across NBC and its digital platforms, marking the fourth-consecutive year the NFL kickoff game topped 25 million viewers on NBC.
Since Super Bowl 50, only 11 shows have averaged at least 25 million TV-only viewers; eight were during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and a ninth was Thursday’s game, with an average of 25.2 million viewers.
The game registered a TV-only national household rating of 14.6 and 27 share, meaning 14.6 percent of households tuned in and 27 percent of households with TVs in use watched. Viewership peaked from 7:30-9:45 p.m. MDT, with 27.7 million viewers.
Denver (46.9/74) and Charlotte, N.C. (33.2/52) were the top markets for the game on NBC, followed by Greensboro, N.C. (27.1/42), New Orleans (24.1/35) and Raleigh, N.C. (22.7/37).
The game also drew a record 61.8 million live streaming minutes, the most of any non-Olympic, non-Super Bowl live stream in NBC Sports Digital history.
