Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall kneeled during the singing of the national anthem before Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers. In doing so, he joined San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in protest of racial oppression and police brutality.
After the game, Marshall said, “I’m not against the military. I’m not against the police or America. I’m just against social injustice.”
As with Kaepernick’s protest, there was a strong but mixed reaction on social media.
