The 8,000-square-foot facility just south of Colorado Springs hosted the return of the soldiers, who had been deployed to Kuwait in December 2015 to provide medical mission command and health service support to U.S. and Coalition forces throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

More information on the soldier’s’ deployment will be available next week when they undergo their “uncasing” ceremony, according to Dani Johnson, chief of media relations, but for now the base is scrambling to prepare for the arrival of President George W. Bush, who will visit on Wednesday, Sept. 14 .
