Regis University steps up to help displaced ITT Tech students

Private Jesuit college will consider ITT credits toward similar degrees

Regis University has added its name to the ring of schools willing to take in displaced ITT Tech students. The Denver-based private school offers no promises but said it will review an ITT student’s case and “consider giving them credit toward a degree in a similar field of study,” the university said Tuesday.

ITT Tech abruptly  leaving a reported 35,000 to 40,000 students stranded. The for-profit school  for imposing new requirements on federal student aid. ITT operated campuses in Aurora and Westminster.

Other schools have also stepped up, including Colorado’s community-college system, which is hosting open houses for ITT students beginning on Sept. 17. Details are at .  The Turing School of Software & Design, a coding school in Denver, is . While students can get federal loans forgiven because of the ITT shutdown, those who transfer credits to a new school won’t be eligible for loan forgiveness.
