A bicyclist was injured after being struck by a sports utility vehicle in an Arapahoe County hit-and-run Friday, authorities say.

The collision happened at or near the intersection of East Smoky Hill and South Tower roads.

The county sheriff’s office says it is looking for a 2000 white Ford Explorer with a broken windshield. The sports utility vehicle was last seen eastbound on Smoky Hill from Tower.

The biker was not seriously hurt, said Julie Brooks, spokeswoman for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials asked motorists to avoid the area as they investigated.
