The Douglas County coroner’s office identified the student as 17-year-old Kyra Connolly.
Douglas County Schools expressed sympathies to the student’s family in a tweet. Spokeswoman Paula Hans declined to release information about Connolly.

A preliminary investigation shows Connolly was driving on the wrong side of the road when her vehicle sideswiped another car then collided head-on with a Douglas County School District delivery truck, according to a Castle Rock media release.
Investigators are trying to determine why Connolly was driving on the wrong side, the release said.
The truck driver was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was released. The third driver was not injured.
Roads in the area of the crash were closed as investigators scoured the scene.
Douglas County schools dispatched a crisis team and counselors to Castle View on Tuesday and say response staff will be there for the next several days.
Our hearts are breaking for our community. Please join us in prayer for Castle View High School.
