Authorities say they are responding to a major gas leak Wednesday morning that occurred because of a fatal car crash along the El Paso-Douglas county line.
The Colorado State Patrol says the wreck happened about 11 a.m. east of Palmer Lake on County Line Road at Indian Drive.
Trooper Josh Lewis said a gas pipe appears to have been struck during the single-vehicle crash. One person is confirmed dead, but details on that person’s identity were not immediately available.

Investigators are urging motorists in the area to seek an alternate route.
The State Patrol did not have information on the wreck’s cause.
