
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the slaying of a woman whose bullet-riddled body was found Wednesday morning in Mead.
Ronald Budler was in the process of being booked into the Weld County jail Wednesday afternoon.
Weld County sheriff’s deputies began investigating after the woman was found dead with several gunshot wounds to her head about 8 a.m. at a home on the 100 block of Hunters Cove Road.
Her name has not been released.
The sheriff’s office says it spoke with multiple witnesses and gathered evidence at the scene before identifying Budler as a suspect.
Further details were not released, including what motivated the killing or how the suspect and victim were connected.
“To preserve the integrity of this case, no more information will be released at this time,” the sheriff’s office said.
