Authorities in Weld County have identified the 51-year-old Thornton woman in Mead.
Shawna Naimoli was found dead by county sheriff’s deputies responding to a home on the 100 block of Hunters Cove Road about 8 a.m. Investigators say she had been shot multiple times in her head.
The sheriff’s office says it spoke with multiple witnesses and gathered evidence at the scene before identifying 49-year-old Ronald Budler as a suspect. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and booked into the Weld County jail.
A judge has denied bond for Ronald Budler, the Mead man accused of shooting and killing a woman early Wednesday morning.

County prosecutors on Thursday afternoon said a judge denied bond for Budler. The Weld County District Attorney’s Office has until Monday to file formal charges in the case.
According to an arrest affidavit, Budler admitted to the killing when interviewed by investigators. He said after he shot Naimoli, he wanted to shoot himself as well but was scared, the affidavit says.
