Haunted houses — the flip side of family-friendly corn mazes — are starting to reappear around the metro area, including the Sept. 23 opening of the elaborate, nationally rated attraction The Asylum (6100 E. 39th Ave).

That joins last weekend’s opening of the 13th Floor Haunted House (4120 Brighton Blvd.), which bills itself as Denver’s largest and features similarly slick attractions. Taking a glace at what¶¶Òõap new this year should give you an idea of the tone: “Slasher Remix,” “Undead: Abomination,” “Ridgegate: The Deranged” and “Postmortem: The Escape.”
