Authorities say was a person who had been reported missing last week from Northglenn.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says its investigators realized soon after the discovery that the victim was reported missing to Northglenn police on Sept. 18. Northglenn police said Monday that the victim was a woman.

“LCSO and Northglenn police investigators have been working together on this case since that time,” the sheriff’s office said Monday. “The Northglenn Police Department has assumed the lead role in the investigation.”

The sheriff’s office said Timnath police were called about 5:30 p.m. Friday on a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a field north of East Prospect Road and County Road 5. When officers approached the vehicle, they found the body inside and began investigating the death as a homicide.

Further details on the case have not been released, including the person’s name or age.
