Mesa County authorities have suspended who never returned from a camping trip.
The county sheriff’s office said it has exhausted all leads in efforts to find Scott Burke, who was supposed to return Saturday.
“No one has seen or heard from him since he left Friday,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The decision comes after three days of searching the Mesa County desert near De Beque by air and on the ground turned up no sign of Burke’s whereabouts.
“Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies remain in contact with family members and will resume the search if more information or new leads come to light about Burke’s whereabouts,” the release added.
Burke is described as being 5-foot-11 and about 175 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He may be driving a white and blue Ford Bronco with a spare tire attached to the rear door.
Anyone who saw Burke camping during the weekend or has information on his whereabouts, they are asked to call the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office at 970-242-6707.
