Conifer-based marathon swimmer Sarah Thomas announced yesterday that she is attempting a nearly 60-hour swim on Lake Powell on the border of Utah and Arizona.

In the post, Thomas writes that she and her team have spent months creating a route between Bullfrog Marina on the Utah side of Lake Powell to the Wahweap Marina just across the border in Arizona. The route is 81.8 miles long and she estimates the swim will be 50-60 hours of nonstop swimming.

Besides her crew, independent judges will be observing the swim to ensure she follows the rules for any possible record-breaking achievements.
