A 30-year-old woman was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison , prosecutors say.

Candice Lampley to child abuse resulting in death, a Class 2 felony.

Lampley’s young son, Javion Johnson, was brought to a Denver hospital’s emergency room on July 8, 2015. He died from injuries sustained while in the care of Lampley and her boyfriend, officials said.

Lampley’s boyfriend, Delonta Crank, 38, of first-degree murder, child abuse resulting in death and child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to go to trial in February 2017.

Jayvion’s death prompted Mayor Michael Hancock , which at one point had Jayvion in its system.

In October 2015, police Detective Troy Bisgard described in court how the toddler was “not breathing and cold to the touch” when he was brought to a hospital.

An autopsy found that Jayvion . But some of Jayvion’s injuries were old.
