Re: “,” Oct. 3 news story.
According to your article, the president of the Denver police association stated that, “After thoughtful consideration, we wholeheartedly believe Mr. Trump is the only candidate that will protect law-abiding citizens from those who choose to break the law.”
What I do not understand is how they “wholeheartedly” came to this conclusion. Donald Trump has avoided paying taxes for years while calling himself brilliant for not doing so. Paying your taxes is how you keep your law-abiding citizens safe because that funds law enforcement, emergency response teams, education, etc., which leads to the safety and well-being of citizens. Not only that, but in his tax evasion, he has caused these hard-working people to lose the payment or funding they deserve for their services. To me, he sounds quite the opposite of someone who is looking out for the well-being of anyone but himself.
What I am struggling with is, what about Trump’s campaign is leading the police union to supporting him so “wholeheartedly”?
