From Halloween costumes to scary movies, mummies are easy to find this time of year. But what about the real-life versions?

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science takes a look into the world of the undead with “Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs,” which opens Oct. 14. The family-appropriate exhibit features Peruvian and Egyptian mummies from the Field Museum of Chicago, some on display for the first time, and delves into the high-tech ways scientists have unwrapped their secrets.
