Getting your player ready...

For three weekends this month, starting Oct. 14-15, the Molly Brown House Museum will provide the setting for dead Victorian-era authors to come back to life (figuratively, of course).

The historic building’s 23rd annual and very Halloween-appropriate series includes tales from Edgar Allen Poe, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, H.G. Wells, H.P. Lovecraft and others performed by professional actors. Have a tight schedule? The stories and the accompanying house tour begin every 15 minutes. Suitable for ages 10 and up with parental discretion.

Tickets are $16 (members/children) and $19 for adult non-members. 6-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 29. 1340 Pennsylvania St. .
