Getting your player ready...

Less than 24 hours after Nuggets guard twisted his right ankle, he was at the practice facility, smiling and calling the injury “minor.”

“I’m good,” Mudiay said. “I just tweaked my ankle a little bit, nothing too serious. Itap just minor. No timetable, but itap not going to take long at all.”

Mudiay, who went down with the injury in the second half of the Nuggets’ exhibition game against Golden State on Friday night, said he will not play Sunday at Portland. He is not likely to play at Oklahoma City on Tuesday night, either.

“When I got up, I tried to play through it and I had to think ‘Itap only preseason,’ ” Mudiay said. “Itap not a matter of taking my time, itap a matter of getting back right.

While Mudiay wouldn’t mind getting extra time with the team to strengthen chemistry, he won’t push it.

“I still feel it,” he said “I’m going to be ready definitely before the season the season starts. I don’t know when I’ll be playing again, honestly. I know it will be the 26th (season opener) but, preseason, you’ve got five days until the last game so, I’ll just play it out by day. It only happened yesterday. So, day-by-day see how it goes.”
