A driver was killed in a head-on traffic collision Monday afternoon in Mead.
The fatal crash happened at about 3 p.m. on Colorado 66 near Weld County Road 7.5, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.
A pickup heading west on the highway crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver of the pickup died. The driver’s name was not released. The sheriff’s office did not say whether anyone else was injured.
An investigation is ongoing.
