Donald Trump Jr. rallies supporters during 6-minute Boulder speech

Event moved after The Sink owners objected to having event at restaurant

In a campaign stop forced to relocate at the last minute, Donald Trump Jr. rallied supporters Monday afternoon at a brief Boulder appearance that was followed by a much longer shouting match between protesters and Trump voters.

The eldest child of the Republican presidential nominee was scheduled to speak at the iconic University Hill haunt The Sink — but the restaurant  on its premises.

Trump Jr. instead spoke inside an unoccupied commercial space on Pearl Street owned by the local developer Stephen Tebo. His speech — which painted his father as optimistic and Hillary Clinton as elitist and hateful — was done in 6 minutes.

After the speech, Trump Jr. posed for photos with supporters — a mix of mostly white people of all ages, many of whom drove in from elsewhere in Colorado, and even out of state, for the occasion. He left about 10 minutes after his speech ended.

Outside the venue, at 741 Pearl St., supporters and protesters clashed for more than half an hour after Trump Jr.’s exit. There was shouting on both sides, but no physical violence was reported.
