
Just visiting. A woman staying with friends in the 13600 block of East Evans Avenue was on her way to a conference Sept. 29 when she realized that someone broke into her car and stole her cellphone and some cash she had stashed in the glove box. There are no suspects.
Car lot vandal. An employee at Tynan’s Volkswago, 700 S. Havana St. came to work Oct. 3 and saw that someone threw paint all over a customer’s car and other nearby cars. Suspects wrote “scratch” in pain on the customer car. An empty paint can was located nearby.
Fake gas money. Someone went into 7-Eleven, 15553 E. Mississippi Ave. and tried to buy $30 worth of gas with a counterfeit bill Sept. 28. The clerk tested the money in front of the customer, who claimed he had no idea it was fake.
In through the window. Police were called to a home in the area of 6 South Sable Boulevard because someone popped out a man’s bedroom screen after he left for work Sept. 30 and stole his laptop, Bluetooth speakers and tablet from the living room table. There are no suspects.
Stolen tires. A man called police to Aurora Outdoor Storage, 2550 N. Laredo St. on Sept. 29 because he noticed that someone stole the tires off his dad’s truck, which they were keeping on the property. There was no security footage of the incident.
