Halloween’s trite festivities are a big part of the holiday’s appeal.I mean, howmanydays is it acceptable to fashion a cat costume and run through haunted houses nearly overdosing on candy corn and pumpkin-flavored vodka?

Edgar Allan Poe and spooky Victorian mansions go hand in cold, clammy hand. Poe at the Parlor features a live reading of Poe’s literature with acoustic musical accompaniment by locals Scott Glennon & Kw Badweed Johnson. Add in Halloween-themed cocktails and tarot readings by psychic medium Lora Cheadle and you’ve got yourself quite a night.

Many of us use Halloween as an excuse to damage our health with fun-sized candy and chug enough boozeto gain the courage to wear a chicken costume. Lavish wigs and high heels are not uncommon among Halloween customs, but Drag Nation’s Hell On Heels event takes these two accessories to a wonderfully high level. With an elaborate inferno theme and favorite performers of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Hell On Heels will be frighteningly mesmeric and awfully gaudy.

These two nights and four performances will showcase the usual Halloween garb —vampires, witches and zombies. There’s nothing much more festive than watching Lannie’s Clocktower Clockettes prance around among the Clocktower’s sleek Italian-style décor, celebrating the holiday with a sexy bend.
