Firefighters say a wildfire that scorched about 205 acres in the Highlands Ranch area has been contained.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced the fire had been contained about 5 p.m. and all evacuations have been lifted.
The fire threatened some structures in the Chatfield Estates and Back Country subdivisions, South Metro Fire Rescue said. Multiple fire crews and air resources and at least one heavy tanker fought the blaze named the Chatridge fire.
U.S. 85 was closed temporarily near Titan Road because of the blaze, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The Douglas County School District transportation department rerouted students who had a bus stop in the Sundial Backcountry area to ThunderRidge High School where parents picked them up.
