Jefferson County rescue teams responded on Friday morning after a woman fell up to 75 feet while hiking in Clear Creek Canyon west of Golden.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was with others when she fell near Tunnel 2 on U.S. 6. The Golden Fire Department headed up the rescue efforts.

Mark Techmeyer, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said the woman was conscious and breathing after the fall. Officials were notified of the incident about 10 a.m.

Further details on the fall were not immediately available.
