Are Americans losing faith in democracy? The simple answer is no. What we have lost faith in is our elected leaders who can’t seem to remember what they promised the voters once they get into office. Accountability seems to be a thing of the past. We have politicians who seem to think they are above the law and have the political pull to prove it; i.e., Hillary Clinton and her e-mails. The media hasn’t helped our loss of political faith in our democracy. Rather than staying with the traditional questions of who, what, where and when, our media has taken bias to a new, low level. Democracy can only work when honesty and ethics remain at the center of it.
