Getting your player ready...

So many great bands, so little time. That’s why we invented In Question, an all-or-nothing, one question Q-and-A series.

First up, singer-songwriter Michael Taylor’s Hiss Golden Messenger, which released its fifth studio album, the excellent earlier this year.

If you can believe it, the band plays Denver for the first time in the project’s almost decade-long career tonight at The Bluebird Theater. (That’s despite being the son of a member of The Settlers, a pop group that once opened for John Denver.) The Dead Tongues will open. Tickets are $15 via .

THE QUESTION IN QUESTION:

Tonight marks your first Denver show in Hiss Golden Messenger’s nine-year career. How are you planning to make up for lost time?

THE ANSWER:

Has it been that long? Really? Well, that wasn’t intentional, and I’ve certainly been busy in that time. So all I can do is play the best music that I can for Denver right now and hope it sticks. And I promise to not be gone that long again.

…and that’s it! See you at the show.
