EAGLE COUNTY — All four candidates running for county commissioner say they support updating the county’s rules to allow e-bikes on the Eagle Valley Trail.

The pedal-assisted, electric motor bicycles, which have been growing in popularity, are currently not allowed on the trail entering and leaving Vail. That means anyone using the bikes would need to ride on the interstate.

Eagle County trails manager Ellie Caryl said county officials will likely take up the issue in the coming months and she plans to get the community involved in the conversation about making the change.
