Pomona took control early and led throughout the game en route to a 42-26 win over Bear Creek in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs on Friday night at the North Area Athletic Complex.
The No. 1 Panthers (10-1, 5-0 Mount Evans Conference) advance to the quarterfinals for a bout with No. 9 Columbine, while the Bears finish their season 3-8.
